| April-May: This is the best time
to catch the rockfish of a lifetime. Rockfish of 50 inches can be caught
during this spring trophy season. Here
is your chance at a wall hanger! May-June: This is the time when light tackle chumming begins. Rockfish are the main target with school size fish of 18 to 30 inches. June-July: Chumming and trolling for rockfish stays consistent through June and July. Hardhead (Croakers) and white perch are also targeted and provide plenty of action for the whole family. July-August: Chumming for rockfish continues to provide plenty of light tackle action. Bluefish start to enter the region in late July.. Bottom fishing for perch remains active. |
August-September: Chumming is hot at this time of year. Catch a little of everything including rockfish, bluefish, and occasional Spanish mackerel. September-October: Chumming is still a productive method for catching rockfish and blues during this period. Trolling will begin to phase back in during October. Jigging for sea trout is popular at this time. October, November, December: The bigger fish return in the fall. Rockfish caught trolling can reach excess of 30+ inches. |
