Captain
George W. Bentz |

Captain George W. Bentz Captain George has been around the water
his whole life, growing up on Bodkin Creek at the same house where his
father grew up. His dad
taught him about fishing the bay. The obsession began at age 7 when he got
a 16ft wooden rowboat and began fishing the creek, of course within sight
of Mom. There was always a
great respect for the Chesapeake Bay and the people that worked it and by
age 14 he had a commercial crab license and sold crabs during the summer.
He was always ready to run out for some great fishing.
With that desire to fish, he decided to start charter fishing and
got his first charter boat ,a 40ft custom baybuilt.
Now he can share the experience of “hookin’ em’ up” with
his customers. He told his
wife when they got married “You know that I fish and that’s not gonna
change”. Well it did
and he fishes more than ever now, thanks to the many repeat and satisfied
customers. So come and
experience the thrill and excitement of fishing the Chesapeake Bay.

The Mate - George M. Bentz That’s right, the father mating for his son (what a combination). We’re not sure of the true age of this fellow but it’s said that he hollered at John Smith for cutting through his chum line when he sailed up the Chesapeake. He has a lot of experience and he wants to be sure everything goes right and your day is enjoyable. One thing is for sure, he ain’t afraid to tell the captain what he thinks. Besides rigging the lines, he also makes most of the lures and jigs used on the boat. His lures have also become popular with some of the other captains in the area, due to their outstanding success. Between fishing trips and lure making, he is the Group Leader for the Pasadena Sportfishing Group the largest sportfishing group in the area. So when you come along George will be ready to make your day on the Chesapeake Bay a memorable one. |
